1971 Intermediate League Winners

After winning the Intermediate Championship earlier in the year, the Celts needed a replay to beat Killeshandra and secure to complete a impressive league and championship double.

It took the introduction of Charlie Gallagher at half time to pull this game out of the fire and forced a replay as the Celts were down 1 - 3 to 0 - 1 at the break. Click here to read the match report from that game

With the drawn game taking place the Sunday before Christmas, the replay didn't take place until February of 1972, but the Celts certainly turned on the style and upped their performance considerably from the first day out. Cootehill completed the double with a 5 point win over the Killeshandra team. To read the match report click here
