Cootehill Celtic GAA Club Notes - 27th April
CELTIC ROYAL WEDDING All the Hen & Stag nights are done and dusted so all that's left to do is turn up for the Wedding itself!!! There is only one place to be this Friday and that's the Errigal Country Hotel for our Celtic Royal Wedding!! The Brides and Grooms are arriving at 8pm sharp so make sure and be out early and not miss out on the entertainment. The Wedding Meal will be served early in the evening and with the Swarbriggs playing, an Auction and a disco till late, it is sure to be a great night's craic!! Tickets cost €20 and can be purchased from any committee member or at the door on the night. See you there!! For further info check out the Celtic Royal Wedding section here
JUNIORS The Juniors played Bailieboro on Saturday afternoon in St. Anne's Park and unfortunately suffered a heavy defeat. A strong Bailieboro side got a goal in the first minute and kept the pressure up and the Celts just couldn't get into the game. Final Score: Cootehill Celtic 0-8 Bailieboro 2-14.
UNDER 16s The Under 16s had a very comprehensive win over a very young Shannon Gaels team in last week and had another good win over Belturbet last night (Tuesday) on a 9-8 to 2-8 - check out our website for full report. Team: Darragh McCarney; Fintan Roche, Josh
Reilly; Jason Halton, James McKitterick, Fiachra Hughes (Captain); Dermie
Connolly, Aaron Cosgrove; Seán O'Connor, Tom Hayes, Dean McMullen; Caoimhín
Carney, Tomás McCullugh. They will play Cornafean at home next Tuesday at 7.30pm - best of luck lads!
UNDER 8s AND 10s The Under 8s and 10s are back in action on Saturdays at 10.30am on the pitch in Hugh O'Reilly Park. Everyone and especially newcomers are always welcome!
UNDER 12s & 14s The Under 12s played Cuchulainns in Mullagh last week in the Go-Games format which saw two 7-a-side games being played side by side. Cootehill were successful in both game and so well done to all involved!! The Under 14s had no competitive game last week because they had a bye. Check out our website for this week's fixtures and results.
CAVAN UNDER 21s All roads lead to Croke Park this Sunday for the All-Ireland Under 21 Final where Cavan take on Galway at 2pm. It's been a very long time since Cavan have been in an All-Ireland Final in GAA HQ and even longer we have won an All-Ireland title so hopefully the boys can do the business on Sunday!! Best of luck lads!!
