ANNUAL DINNER DANCE The Annual Dinner Dance of Cootehill Celtic GAA was held on Friday night last and was a great success. The Errigal Country House Hotel proved yet again to be an excellent venue and provided a lovely Four Course meal. Special guests present included the Uachtarán Chomhairle Uladh Aogan Ó Fearghail and the Chairman of the County Board Tom Reilly, while the club’s 1971 Intermediate League and Championship winning side were also honoured. The evening began with a very well attended mass for Deceased Members in St. Michael’s Church. The Ulster Council President launched the club’s new Five Year Strategic Plan which hopefully will provide the club with a road plan to success both on and off the field in the next few years. The club’s brand new Newsletter entitled ‘The Celtic Times’ was also launched by both Aogan and the County Chairman while the continued success of the club’s website was also highlighted. Both guests gave interesting and well received speeches and there was a great cheer when Tom Reilly announced that club member and President John Fay would become a President of Cavan GAA at the upcoming County Convention – a worthy and well deserved honour given his many years’ service to both club and county. The Louis Swing Band and a disco kept those in attendance entertained until the small hours of the morning rounding off a great night’s craic! Many thanks to all who attended and especially those who helped to organise the night itself.
