Cootehill Celtic GAA Club Notes - 14^th June

SENIORS & JUNIORS

The Seniors fell to their second defeat in a row with poor performance at home to Bultersbridge on Saturday evening. Final Score: Cootehill Celtic 1-9 to Bultersbridge 2-09.

The Juniors fared better in the curtain raiser and were comfortable winners over the 'Bridge. Final Score: Cootehill Celtic 0-16 to Bultersbridge 0-4.

Both teams are in action this weekend Senior-Junior doubleheader at home to Denn on Saturday with the Juniors throwing-in at 6pm and the Seniors starting afterwards at 7.30pm

JUNIOR C CHAMPIONSHIP

The draw for the Hotel Kilmore Junior C Championship was made recently and Cootehill have been given a derby game in the first round against Kill Shamrocks. The winners will go on to play either Bailieboro or Killinkere in an away quarter final. The Kill game is scheduled to be played on Wednesday 10^th August in Rathluden Park.

COMMITTEE MEETING

The club's monthly meeting of the Executive Committee will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8.30pm in the club dressing rooms.

UNDER 16s

The Under 16s playoff opponents have pulled out so now the lads are through to the semi-final where they will face Knockbride on Wednesday 22^nd June in O'Hagan Park, Shercock. Training this Saturday at 4.30pm in the pitch. Best of luck lads!!

UNDER 8s AND 10s

The Under 10s played in a Go-Games Blitz in Drumgoon on Saturday morning and fielded two teams of 10 youngsters. Both sides played three 20 minute games and thoroughly enjoyed the morning's football. The Under 10s play in another Blitz this Sunday in Drung GAA Grounds in Bunnoe so there is no training on Saturday morning. The Under 8s will play in a Blitz in the Go-Games format this Saturday in Boyle Park, at 11am. Please meet at the pitch at 10.15am.

UNDER 13s

The Under 13s will start their league this Thursday with an away fixture against Drumgoon throwing-in at 7.30pm. Best of luck.

CAVAN SENIORS

Hard luck to Cavan last Sunday where they were second best to Donegal in Kingspan Breffni Park. Cootehill's John played the whole game at centre-back and was certainly one of Cavan's better performers on the day. They have been handed a derby match against Longford in the first round of the Qualifiers on Saturday week in Kingspan Breffni Park at 5pm.

CAVAN JUNIORS

Well done to Cavan Juniors - and Colm Smith who was among the subs - who beat Kilkenny last Wednesday in Nowlan Park in the Leinster Junior Championship Semi-final. The Breffni men will now play Kildare in the final on Wednesday 29^th most likely in St. Conleths Park, Newbridge.

The numbers for this week's draw took place on Monday in the West End Bar were 3, 14, 20 and 27. There was no winner of the Jackpot but the five weekly winners are: Johnny Farrelly; Stephen O'Neill; Caitriona Coyle; Kathleen Hawe; Eoin Smith and Margaret Argue.

Next week's draw for a jackpot of €8,200 will take place in Smith's Bar on Monday 20^th at 9.30pm. Everyone welcome! Thanks to all for your continued support
