Cootehill Celtic GAA Club Notes - 6^th May

CELTIC ROYAL WEDDING

A grand night was had by one and all at the club's very successful Celtic Royal Wedding last Friday night in Errigal Country Hotel.

Our Brides and Grooms arrived at the hotel in style in a fleet of Mercedes to a champagne reception before a marvellous Wedding meal was served. Our Auction was a great success - thanks to all who gave items and sponsor the auction itself on the night - before the Celtic Royal Couple of Carla Hayes and Sean Fitzpatrick was announced to great fanfare by MC Gerry McDonagh and were then "married" by our "Priest" Vincent McCaul!! The Swarbrigg Brothers and a DJ provided the entertainment till early hours…

Thanks to all who supported the night and helped organise it and especially to all our Brides and Grooms who worked so hard over the last couple of months!!

SENIORS & JUNIORS

The Juniors and Seniors are back in action this Sunday against Bultersbridge in a Junior-Senior doubleheader. The Seniors need a win to keep their place at the top of the Division 2 table and the Juniors need to bounce back after 2 defeats in a row. Seniors throw-in is at 3.30pm and the Juniors throw-in beforehand at 2pm

UNDER 16s

The Under 16s enjoyed a great 4-10 to 3-6 win on Tuesday night over the league leaders Cornafean in Hugh O'Reilly Park. The Young Celts lead right from the start to make it 3 wins in a row.

Team: Darragh McCarney; Fintan Roche, James McKitterick; Fiachra Hughes (Captain), Aaron Cosgrove, Odhrán O'Reilly; Ryan O'Reilly, Dermie Connolly; Jason Halton, Tom Hayes, Dean McMullen; Caoimhín Carney, Tomás McCullugh. Subs: Alex Hamilton; Seán O'Connor.

They will play Dernacrieve Gaels away next Tuesday at 7.30pm - best of luck lads!

UNDER 8s AND 10s

The Under 8s and 10s are back in action on Saturdays at 10.30am on the pitch in Hugh O'Reilly Park. Everyone and especially newcomers are always welcome!

UNDER 12s & 14s

The Under 12s play Bailieboro next Monday at home at 7.30pm and the Under 14s play Mountnugent this Sunday 7th away at 12.30pm in a refixed league game.

CAVAN UNDER 21s

Hard luck to the Cavan Under 21 team who were well beaten by a very strong Galway team in the All-Ireland Final on Sunday in Croke Park.

The numbers for this week's draw took place on Monday in Mullen's Bar were 1, 3, 14 and 20. There was no winner of the Jackpot but the five weekly winners are: Malachi Matthews; Carmel Murray; Stephen McDonagh; Phillip Scorr; and Seán Argue.

Next week's draw for a jackpot of €7,900 will take place in the White Horse on Monday 9th at 9.30pm. Everyone welcome! Thanks to all for your continued support
