Cootehill Celtic GAA Club Notes - 25th October

SENIORS

The Seniors scored a 1-14 to 1-8 win over Killinkere in the final game of the league away in Killinkere on Sunday afternoon to secure a place in the Division 2 League semi-final. The Celts had to recover from a very poor start as they were 1-3 to no score down after only a few minutes but the lads battled back to lead at half time and pull away after the break.

The Celts will play Drumalee in the semi-final this Saturday at 6.30pm on the 3G pitch in Kingspan Breffni Park. It will form the first half of a double header as the second semi-final between Drumgoon and Crosserlough will take place at 8pm. Best of luck lads!

NURSERY PROGRAMME

The club will be starting its new Nursery Programme on Saturday 5^th November at 11am in St. Aidan’s Comp. This will take place indoors and cater for Under 6s (Junior, Senior & 1st class) as well as younger pre-school children lasting for one hour.

Members of the Ulster Council and Cavan GAA Coaching & Games Development will hold an Information and Registration Night next Tuesday 1st November in the Club Dressing Rooms at 8pm. This evening will be ideal for parents to learn more about the programme and to register their children also. ANNUAL DINNER DANCE

Cootehill Celtic GAA is holding their dinner dance this year in the Errigal Country Hotel, Cootehill on Friday 2^nd December. In what promises to be a great night’s craic, the club will honour the 1971 Intermediate League and Championship winning side. Tickets will available in the near future from the committee with price and entertainment to be confirmed closer to the date.

The club’s Annual General Meeting will also be held the following Sunday 4^th so it is definitely a weekend to savour for all the Gaels of Cootehill. For any more information email pro.cootehill.cavan@gaa.ie

UNDER 21s

The Celts Under 21s have been handed an away Quarter final draw in Division Two of the Under 21 Championship. Cootehill will play Bailieboro Shamrocks in St. Anne’s Park on the Bank Holiday Monday 31^st).

The numbers for this week's draw took place last Monday in the West End Bar were 07, 14, 21 and 30. There was no winner of the Jackpot but the five weekly winners are: Brendan McCabe; Rory Halton; Siobhan Keenan; Mairead Mullen; and Dermot Hogan
