MEMBERSHIP

The membership is now due for this season and can be paid to club registrar Kieran McCarville or any of the committee members. Family membership (2 adults and any number of children under 18) is €60; Juvenile membership is €5; Student membership is €10 and adult is €25. Membership is also available online…

CAVAN SENIORS

Some members of our Under 8, 10 and 12s travelled over to Kingspan Breffni Park last Sunday for the McKenna Cup clash between Cavan and Donegal. The children were treated to a 1-14 to 2-8 win for the Breffni men over the reigning Ulster Champions.

Cootehill’s John McCutcheon played the entire game in the left-half back position in what was an excellent victory for the home side. Cavan will take on UUJ tonight (Wednesday) in Kingspan Breffni Park where a win could put them in contention for a semi-final spot. Thanks to the parents and coaches who accompanied the children on Sunday.

FOOTBALL

The Minor footballers have already taken back to Hugh O’Reilly Park for training in preparation for the start of the Minor league early next month. While the Under 16s footballers will also begin their training in the next week or so. The Division 2 league will begin on 17/18^th February with a home fixture against Killinkere and an away game against Kill the following weekend so the Senior and Junior panels are also back in action already.

O’BYRNE CUP

Hard luck to Senior Player Joshua Hayes and his UCD team mates who were beaten by All-Ireland Champions Dublin in Parnell Park on Saturday night.

EVENTS CALENDAR

Among the many changes to the website in recent days, the Events Calendar is sure to be a valuable and popular addition. The calendar features a range of events including matches, conferences, workshops, clotto draws and many more across all levels of the GAA from Cootehill Celtic senior and underage games to Cavan games and Ulster Council events. Some of the fixtures are already in place as far into the future as September (albeit provisionally) so make sure and check out here as the Event Calendar will be updated regularly.

COACHING

There are a number of Coaching related workshops, conferences and courses coming up in the next couple of weeks. The Ulster GAA Coaching & Games Development Conference will take on Saturday 28th January in the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown. While an Ulster Council workshop on ‘Winning Possession’ will take place in Callanbridge Armagh City (Armagh Training Grounds) this Thursday from 7.30pm to 9pm. Prior Registration is not required for the workshop and it is free of charge.

There will is an Award 1 Children’s Coaching Course taking place this weekend and the following weekend in Kingspan Breffni Park. A Foundation Coaching course will take place on 10/11th February in Breffni and an Award 1 Youth/Adult Coaching Course will be held on the 10/11th and 17/18th of February. If you wish to attend any of these courses you must register through the club’s Coaching Officer Aidan McCabe on 086-3381427. CLOTTO

Don't forget that you or your family can support Cootehill Celtic GAA wherever you are in the world by playing our weekly clotto online on our website! Even if you don't use it yourself, spread the word to friends and family as it is a vital source of income for the club.

The numbers for this week's draw took place last Monday in the Bellamont Arms were 9, 17, 20 and 22. There was no winner of the Jackpot but the five weekly winners are: Ruairi MacThiarnain [online]; Paul Burns; Big Jimmy Reilly; Lil Brady; P. Farrell (Maudabawn).

Next week's Jackpot will be worth €2,650 and the draw will be held in Nulty's at 8.30pm on Monday 23^rd. Please note earlier time of draw. Everyone welcome! Thanks to all for your continued support
